About Us

Stacey Poston and Wendy Woods have lived, worked and thrived in the Durham area for over 20 years. They developed Habitable Space, with the intent of creating place based residences and small commercial projects that support the redevelopment of the urban core of Durham. Their latest building located at 1200 West Chapel Hill Street combines their passion for community with their love and experience in the restaurant industry. GRUB, is a full-service restaurant offering breakfast, lunch and dinner with catering (at our site or yours) and a rooftop bar. Grub is a meeting place for folks to visit to eat, drink, share and enjoy.

Wendy Woods, a Durham native, has worked in and owned restaurants all of her adult life. In the last 15 years she and business partner and childhood friend Piper Lunsford have opened and successfully operated Piper's in the Park (Triangle Park), NOSH Eclectic Foodstuffs (Duke University), NOSH @ Joe Rae Cafe (Trent Semans Center-Duke Campus), and NOSH Sammiches (All over Durham). Wendy is proud to be a part of the Durham community and is dedicated to offering high-quality, affordable cuisine complimented by quick, friendly service. She is a frequent cross country runner so you may see her zipping by with her new dog Emmiline aka "Speckles".

Stacey Poston, proudly works at the City of Durham and spends her free time tinkering with bricolage art, kayaking about the Southeast and constantly scheming on how to make her community a better, more beautiful place.
